What’s This? Studio approached me to create two projections for the outdoor area at the newly launced Karrinyup. One was for Christmas, and the other for Lunar New Year. 

For Lunar New Year, the goal was to have a highly dynamic and realistic dancing lion set against a hyper real environment. The Lion model itself was pre-rigged and textured, which I hand animated and then simulated cloth and fur over the top to create a natural and energetic feel.

The rest of the scene was built with third party models and rendered with Houdini.
